Explore North Africa at the Fragile Desert. You will be greeted by the chatter of meerkats, standing tall while surveying their domain. Nearby, crested porcupines rustle their quills and a pack of desert dogs sniff the air. Rock hyraxes, sand cats, and caracals blend smoothly with their sandy surroundings.

This exhibit is part of The Fragile Kingdom, an area made up of three very different habitats featuring an array of animals—some familiar and others unusual. Look in the trees, on the ground, and in the shadows to find incredible species that are able to survive in harsh conditions.

Enjoy your immersion into this ecosystem, and continue on to see the Fragile Hunters and the Fragile Rain Forest.
