White Pelicans Affected by Gulf Oil Spill Find New Home at Brookfield Zoo
Chicago Zoological Society Continues Rescue and Research Efforts in Response to the Disaster

Golden Lion Tamarins Roam the Woods at Brookfield Zoo: Small Primates Released near Indian Lake for the Summer

World’s Longest-Running Dolphin Research Program Celebrates 40th Year

Randall Wells, Ph.D. senior conservation scientist for the Chicago Zoological Society (wearing the cap) trains Argentine researchers Pablo Bordino and Ana Fazio to radio-track Franciscana dolphins from a rooftop in San Clemente, Argentina. This was the first time Franciscana dolphins had ever been tagged and tracked, and provided the first evidence of local residency by this species.

Ginger, a well-known dolphin was found stranded on the north end of Siesta Beach, Florida. After two months of rehabilitation, she was released back into the wild with freezebrand and small VHF radio transmitter that was used to track her for two months.
