Become a King Conservation Science Scholar today

KCLA-Scholars-PNG.pngEver dreamt about being an entrepreneur? Maybe you’re interested in science and medicine? Where do your talents lie? If you love songs, instruments, and rhythms, you could be musically intelligent. Maybe you’re a natural at sports where you easily flex that bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. What if none of that applies and you’re simply looking for a safe space to meet friends and have fun? Whatever your reason, the King Conservation Science Scholars team is excited to help you learn and explore! The King Conservation Science Scholars program is designed to help you discover more about yourself while learning how nature connects to it all.

The King Conservation Science Scholar program is an innovative, hands-on approach to leadership development that incorporates environmental literacy and inclusion to assist in cultivating the next generation of conservation-minded, community-driven leaders.

King Scholars have the unique opportunity to incorporate experiences directly related to their individual passions into building an authentic relationship to nature. Because we all have different goals and voices, the opportunities within the program are just as diverse and abundant as the King Scholars. They include opportunities like:

• Fun and engaging topic driven courses like positive mental health, coding, understanding emotional intelligence, animal wellness, and even writing.
• Interactive STEAM sessions with real-world experts.
• Attending universal certification courses that enhance resumes, college, and job applications.
• Travel and field research opportunities in other states.
• A teen conservation conference, run for teens – by teens, that extends your professional network and personal connections.
• Public speaking growth and enhancement opportunities.
• College tours.
• Graduation volunteer service hours opportunities.
• Animal handling, care, and/or presentation opportunities.
• College pathway mapping workshops that include resume building, personal essay writing, financial aid, and choosing a college major.
• Scholarships and internship opportunities offered exclusively to King Scholars.
