The Face of the Future
Because the Chicago Zoological Society (CZS) reaches millions of visitors each year, and even more through neighborhood and global outreach, and because each of those people connects with countless others, our potential to change the world is profound, and our responsibility to do so is essential. Each CZS program and activity stems from that goal. Each endeavor establishes a link to nature and sets a course toward conservation leadership: whether revealing the intricate connections between climate change and polar bears; inviting guests to observe and engage with Humboldt penguins or reticulated giraffes; establishing science training centers in neighborhood schools; helping residents host a community clean up; or providing tools and training to youth across the globe. CZS’s Center for Conservation Leadership serves as nexus for these endeavors, coordinating fieldwork, Zoo-based education, and outreach to reach and inspire as many conservation leaders as possible.
