The Arabian sand cat has long, dense fur in shades of cold and cream with black stripes to aid in camouflaging into its desert habitat. The thick fur covering its paws helps protect its feet from the heat of the sand as it moves across the desert and dunes. A poor climber and jumper, the Arabian sand cat takes the edge off its warm habitat's conditions by digging burrows deep into the sand, escaping the heat of the day.
