EDITH ROCKEFELLER MCCORMICK SOCIETY

Your Zoo — Your Vision — Your Legacy

Nearly 100 years ago, Edith Rockefeller McCormick donated 83 acres to the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, with the vision of building a large zoological park with modern construction and open enclosures similar to those she had enjoyed in Europe.  And, in 1933, the George F. Getz family provided much of the foundation of the early zoo through their gift of 330 animals from their private collection.  Together, they helped to create the foundation of the Brookfield Zoo Chicago people know and love today.

Many have followed in their footsteps over the years by including Brookfield Zoo Chicago in their estate plans. Today, we invite you to consider joining this special group of individuals who wish to make a difference for future generations by creating your own legacy and joining the Edith Rockefeller McCormick Society.
