The smallest python in all of Africa, Ball pythons are also known as “royal pythons” because African rulers would wear them as jewelry. It is believed that Queen Cleopatra used a real one as a bracelet. In the face of danger, ball pythons roll up into a tight ball in hopes predators will not be able to swallow them.
